Indonesia’s Purse Seine sector is highly diverse, ranging from ocean going vessels in the Indonesian EEZ to small boats operating close to shore; from vessels targeting large tuna to vessels mainly catching small pelagic species, and from highly specialized operations to fleets that opportunistically harvest a wide range of species.

APSI advocates for responsible fishing practices, improves industry standards, and enhances market access. By working closely with government agencies, market partners, and local fishing communities, APSI supports capacity building, traceability, and compliance with international trade requirements.
